The Digital Antiquity: Celebrating the Legacy of FDCARD
At EverdreamSoft, we have always been driven by the intersection of gaming and pioneering technology. Long before "NFT" became a trend, we were busy minting the future on the Bitcoin blockchain. Today, we look back at one of our most iconic milestones: the FDCARD.
A Historical Pioneer
Minted on March 11, 2015, the FDCARD holds the prestigious title of the first-ever blockchain card. It was released through our flagship project, Spells of Genesis (SoG), two years before the game's official launch and months before our initial ICO.
The card was born from a unique collaboration with FoldingCoin and Stanford University's "Folding at home" program. To earn one of the only 300 units in existence, participants had to contribute their computational power to simulate protein folding, helping research into cures for diseases like cancer and Alzheimer's. This makes the FDCARD not just a digital asset, but a symbol of technological innovation paired with philanthropic spirit.
Artistic and Cultural Value
Beyond its technical "firsts," the FDCARD is an original artwork, illustrated by Alejandro Hurtado. All the SoG cards depict in an allegorical way real-life events of the early crypto-sphere. Spells of Genesis influence is undeniable, having inspired legendary digital art movements like the Rare Pepe project.
In the world of "Digital Antiquities," the FDCARD is recognized by historians and collectors as a cornerstone of NFT and digital collectibles history.
FDCARD Goes to Art Basel 2026
In June 2026, FDCARD is stepping out of the digital realm and into the heart of the international art world.
The FDCARD will be featured and available for acquisition during the upcoming Art Basel in Switzerland, taking place from June 18 to June 21, 2026. As one of the most significant digital relics in existence, its presence at this prestigious art event marks a historic moment where "digital antiquities" take their rightful place alongside contemporary masterpieces.
